METHODISM was born in song and Southlands has continued to maintain this tradition in this part of York with its choir and singing group.
The church has a vacancy for
Organist and Director of Music, but the choir, which
meets for practice on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm, from
September to July, has continued to lead worship
at both morning and evening services, and took the lead
role in an Advent service of light at Southlands on Sunday, December
9.
The Singing Group has stepped up the number of practices it holds from one a month to two a month on Thursday evenings at 6.30pm, as it is now taking part in more services and leading the introduction of some of the newer songs into our worship.
Both the Choir and the Singing Group would be glad to welcome new voices. There will be Singing Group practices this month at 6.30pm on April 10 and 24.
