FLAME is the name of our young adults group which meets for Bible study at the home of Davjd and Naomi and also holds social events at different times through the year.

The group has been functioning for five years and now also leads worship at Southlands, taking reponsibility for a new 45-minute worship event called ESCAPE at 5.00pm on the first Sunday of the month.

The picture was taken at the group's Christmas meal held at Stamford Bridge and attended by 12 members.

Annemarieke de Bruin introduced them to the Dutch tradition of celebrating the December 5 birthday of Sinterklaas with an exchange of gifts wrapped in interesting ways and accompanied by a poem about the gift or recipient.

Gifts included a sparkly blue beard for Tony Masinton, pictured with Annemarieke, left, Steph Masinton and Christine Banham, to replace one he grew for a holiday Kids Club last summer.
